Revision Strategies
Proven techniques for quick revision
01
Active Recall
Close the book and write what you remember. More effective than re-reading. Tests actual retention.
02
Spaced Repetition
Revise after 1 day, 3 days, 7 days, 14 days. Memory strengthens each time you recall with gaps.
03
Pomodoro Technique
25 min study + 5 min break. Brain needs rest to consolidate. Never study more than 90 min straight.
04
Feynman Method
Explain the topic as if teaching to a 10-year-old. If you can’t, you don’t know it well enough.
05
Mind Maps
Draw visual connections between topics. Helps see the big picture and remember relationships.
06
PYQ First Strategy
Always do PYQ before new topics. 60-70% questions repeat in pattern. Know the examiner’s mind.
07
Interleaving
Mix different subjects in one session — not one subject all day. Improves long-term retention.
08
Sleep & Consolidation
Sleep after studying — brain consolidates memory during REM sleep. 7-8 hours is non-negotiable.
09
One-Liner Notes
Make bullet-point cheat sheets for each topic. 1 line per concept. Revise in minutes, not hours.
10
Eliminate Distractions
Phone on silent, notifications off. 1 hour of deep focus > 3 hours of distracted studying.
11
Weak Topics First
Revise weak areas in morning when brain is fresh. Easy topics can be done in evening.
12
Day Before Exam
No new topics. Only revise notes you already made. Sleep by 10 PM. Confidence is your weapon.
